MEET THE MAKERS

We will continue to update our list of Makers with details about the talents they use to provide for their families and communities.

 HAITI

Commonality was birthed through the work first started in Haiti in 2000.

In 2007, we started our first sewing school.

Haiti offers the world market the unique gifts of horn products, metal work, sewing, leather goods and had made beads.

 UGANDA

Currently, Commonality Cooperative provides employment to seven horn artisans, three brass artisans and 28 basket women weavers in Rwanda and Uganda. Our work in Uganda is helping to build a trade school.

STATE SIDE WORK

Commonality Cooperative partners with a handful of groups here in the States.

We work to help create jobs for Veteran's and those coming out of hard situations.

A FIRM FOOT FORWARD

Commonality Cooperative partners with A FIRM FOOT FORWARD, providing a place for hope, discovery, and recovery to foster healing through artistry as a means to self-sufficiency and economic independence to create these leather goods.
